Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)
Saturn entering Libra represents an enormous sea change for you. Certain elements of your nature make you one of the most inherently introspective signs of the 12. Yet Saturn, now in your 12th solar house, is drawing you toward a dimension of inner seclusion that is different than anything you've experienced lately. And that is putting pressure on you to change your mind about certain long-held beliefs; to alter your environment; and to come to terms with everything about you that nobody else knows. However, you may recognize that your inner secret world cannot stay that way for long. The overriding theme of your current transits is that in order to regain your sanity, you need to be more transparent. In the end, you will discover that it was not what you were concealing that was causing your struggle, but the mere fact that you concealed it.
The inner secret world thing coming out is scary true lately. I am surprised at what comes out of me this week!
Scorpio
24th October – 22nd November
Your ruler Pluto, planet of trusting the unknown, is linking to Saturn, planet of future expectations, all month. It’s an interesting mix of energies, especially as Saturn has just entered the ‘go with the flow’ angle of your chart, where surrender takes you where you want to go faster than fighting against the current. There’s a fabulous new moon (new phase) in your sign on the 16th and events around this time somehow show you how well things can go when you trust the process. As this is a long-term influence, things unfold gradually, but this is part of it too; trusting the timing.
-Achieving your goals, particularly if you are an artist or other creator, is never easy.-Making money being a creator is often difficult.-Maintaining a partnership with someone you love is often made difficult by practical considerations.-Often... it would be easier to just give up and let "common sense" dictate your behavior.
If you are a person who believes that carving your own destiny is possible, then yeah, sure there's free will.
And if you're not, if you think every single thing is all there in the horoscope,
then it's another story.
No matter how you look at astrology,
this shit works.
Theoretically, in a synastry, two people coming together with this aspect should facilitate one another in this way. There is an understanding between them. They feel comfortable together, complimented. They like one another. This works even in compatible elements (fire/air, earth/water) without an exact aspect, although the more exact the aspect, the greater the integration. In theory, at least.
Ever had a non-sexual relationship with someone whose Sun was conjunct your Moon, or vice versa? A friendship perhaps? Work colleague? Ever notice what happens? Usually, you get along okay, sometimes fabulously. You like the same things, you have the same attitudes, you feel comfortable with one another. You have fun together. But then, what happens? All that same-y stuff runs down an unconscious river between you. Pretty soon, you don’t notice it anymore, and then that’s when the conflicts of other planets kick in. And that wave of unconscious nicey-nice-ness that you were relying on suddenly turns on you a bit, because you find that the same qualities you really don’t like in yourself are reflected in the other person, like a bad mirror staring back at you all the time. Moon in Leo starts resenting Sun in Leo’s need for attention. Moon in Pisces starts steaming because Sun in Pisces is never home for dinner on time.
I'm sort of amused at this since my double Sadge friend is coming to visit...we're not conjunct, though.
"And because Libra is all about relating, the emphasis will be on relationships of every denomination, which means it would be wise to anticipate meetings with current, recent, or long-gone lovers, friends, and other intimate partners. Just be aware those meetings can occur in a variety of dimensions — dreams, meditation, memories therapy, or at the grocery store, gas station, or swap meet. No matter where this potential for close encounters unfolds, keep in mind, your primary relationship is with yourself, and then do your best to treat yourself with as much loving kindness as possible."
Planet Waves: Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 22)
You have the personal moxie, the charm, the style, energy and most of all, the personal required to succeed in the way that you want to. In fact, you can forget about everything on that list except for the last item. Success does not usually happen fast, and we have good reason to question the kind that does. What I am telling you is that you have solid reasons to have faith in yourself. So what if various elements of your romantic life make about as much sense as two jigsaw puzzles mixed together. Who cares if there are those nights you feel like you're holed up in a raft floating on the ocean of your own existence. You actually know who you are. You actually believe in yourself.Free Will Astrology (these two made my friends about FAINT this week with the accuracy):
My friend Alcea, the pagan priestess who leads group rituals, is a responsible sort who has humble respect for the power of the spirit realms. She thinks there can be value in seeking help from the beings who dwell on the other side of the veil, but you've got to be careful. They can be as clueless and misguided as the less evolved characters who live on the material plane. That's why Alcea is especially impeccable around this time of year, when the veil between the worlds is thinner and our dimension is more accessible to the spirits. Having said all that as a caveat, Taurus, I want to let you know that this would be an excellent time for you to call on the help of your most intelligent, interesting, and loving ancestors.
The astrological vibes suggest that you open yourself wide, try everything, and give freely. I urge you to adapt as your motto an exhortation that once came out of the mouth of the seven-year-old cartoon character Dennis the Menace: "Hey! Wake up! Let's go everywhere and do everything!" More than any other phase in many moons, Scorpio, this is your moment to make YES your battle cry. The world is asking you to be bigger than the old you, wilder than five blood oaths put together, and as strong as the full moon rising over a mountain.
I've read different takes on this subject, but this is new to me:
In assessing talents I go straight for Venus and Chiron in the natal chart. Venus represents our assets, sometimes quite literally; these are traits and abilities we can pull out of our pockets and use, the best examples being Venus-ruled gifts such as singing ability or artistic talent. Venus attributes always carry an undefinable je ne sais quoi that shines through and designates the result as talent, rather than mere effort. Venus is like ability currency we can spend as we like; it draws admiration, and marks us as naturally skilled, whether we work to develop that ability or not.
Chiron is another kind of attribute entirely, a much more subtle ability that is highly unique and personalized to our Beingness and experience. The Chirotic skill has the quality of being channeled through us, and because of this it’s an asset we can freely offer to others, while this specific aid remains unavailable for our own use. We can profit from Venus; the profit we derive from Chiron is personal and spiritual, for the most part, with the goal being to take the Chirotic experience from a personal to a transpersonal level.
During the summer, I submitted a proposal to an organization about teaching an astrology class here. They said they'd get back to me and then did not. A friend of mine already teaches classes for them and is always saying how utterly flaky they are, so on some level I guess that was not a surprise. They're kind of the only game in town for finding somewhere to teach obscure subjects, though.
However, said friend wants to keep teaching there in the winter, but now has a shift-switching job that is making a stink about her wanting to not have to work night shifts on certain nights of the week. So she asked if we could team teach a class combining astrology and tarot. That could be interesting... and possibly give me a loophole in so they might actually pay attention to me if/when I submit stuff.
Last night I ended up loading up various people I work with's charts onto astro.com and giving them brief rundowns. It was a lot of fun. I don't necessarily want to see clients on a regular basis, but it's fun once in a while.
In other news, I have submitted a proposal to teach a Saturn transits class at Pantheacon. We'll see if they are interested in that or not.
